Enough mountain climbing, it's time for desert heat! Recently, Apple has taken Mac users to the warmer places by killing its series of mountain themes and naming the newest macOS version after Mojave desert.
Since the X11 environment is not native to macOS it's not a simple recompile, since you have to rewrite the GUI system. Thankfully there is an X11 display server for Mac OS X that can be used to run an application in a Linux environment and display it on the macOS desktop. To Paste between an X11 app and a Mac OS X app, in the X11 file menu, select Edit Copy and then select Edit Paste in the Mac OS X app menu. X11 Customization and PATH export: To have the scrollbar automatically appear when a new xterm window is created from the X11 menu (and to perhaps source the shell files so that PATH's are kept, etc).

This app can’t be opened because it is from an unidentified developer. Apple has a security feature called “Gatekeeper” which protects your Mac from malicious apps. Gatekeeper requires apps to either be from the Mac App Store (a place that Apple controls) or from a developer who is registered with Apple. I ran into the 'Cannot open this app because it's from an unidentified developer' dialog, and dismissed it. I know how to authorize one of these applications (use the control key while opening the application, then allow it), but it still quit immediately after launching. I then did a total uninstall again, including AIR installer, and started.
